For over 20 years, Edmonton-based saxophonist and composer Jerrold Dubyk has balanced performance, composition, and music education. Known for his warm, distinctive tone, he continually seeks deeper musical truth—a journey that led him to study with mentor Branford Marsalis. As Marsalis put it, “The pursuit for the new sound is through the old… the study of melody and tradition is the suitable new sound.
